ALHAURIN VILLAGE

Our “Alhaurin Village” route is basically a long loop that starts from our favorite BP cafe, where we park the van, and back to the same place. It begins with a ride through a large forest behind Alhaurin El Grande on wide dirt roads until we gradually descend into the center of the aforementioned village where we ride through its narrow and rugged typical Andalusian streets until we arrive at a lovely little cake shop where you can try the local’s typical homemade pastries and sit in a cafe next door and enjoy it with a nice coffee or cold drink. After recovering our energy, we continue descending into a valley from where we’ll start climbing back up through some beautiful agricultural land on dirt tracks, surrounded by oranges, lemons, avocados, figs and many more, which will eventually lead us back to the BP where we left the van in the morning. From there, we have the option of jumping into the van and back down to base if we’ve had enough, or continue riding down to the coast via Valtocado or Garden Center. A lovely day out for those seeking a leisurely ride to get to know the real Andalusian white washed village with its typical agricultural land. Generally suitable for fit beginners and intermediates.
