Anna, one of our guides discovered this superb section of singletrack high in the Mijas mountains. Flowing singletrack along the high contour through the woods. The vans take us to a higher spot on the outskirts of the Mijas village. The day begins with a steep but short fire road climb, then continues down the dirt track for a couple of minutes till we stop at a forest entrance. From this point, unfortunately, there is a 15 min push up a zigzagging singletrack, which isn’t steep but does seem like a bit of a drag! The good news is that once we reach the top, the push is SO worth it. From then onwards it’s just smooth undulating trails in and out of the woods all the way down to the outskirts of the next village which is Alhaurin El Grande. To finish this morning ride we generally stop for lunch at our usual cafe in the sun for a delicious coffee or a homemade smoothie and a bite to eat. The afternoon descent we just tend to play it by ear and choose on the spot…depending on everyone’s energy level.
