.
08:30 – Breakfast.
Transfer to Montellano (It´s a few Kms to the Via Verde from here).
The Via verde is an old railway track built before the Spanish Civil war and never finished and now developed for mountain biking and walking. It passes through the mountains with over 30 tunnels (these illuminate automatically as you pass through!), 5 old stations and 6 spectacular viaducts for 34km. The route passes along the Guadalete River and through the unique Zaframagón Vulture Reserve where numerous vultures circle overhead. The route finishes in the picturesque village of Olvera. We are staying at a rural hotel in the town centre “Sierra y Cal”.In the evening it´s worth a stroll to the castle and cathedral then dinner at the hotel.
08:30 – Breakfast.
Ride straight from the Olvera hotel.
The route is about 50 Kms. Half on dirt tracks, half on quiet country lanes and finishes in the picturesque village of Zahara de la Sierras. There will be a lunch stop in the pretty village of Algodonales. We are staying just outside the town centre in a lovely hotel called “Los Tadeos” . In the evening it´s worth a stroll to the castle on the top of the village for a magnificent view over the lake. We can then have a typical Spanish dinner in the hotel or in the village square.
08:30 – Breakfast.
Transfer to Ronda.
The route is a spectacular trip through the Ronda mountains from about 1200 metres above sea-level to Marbella at sea-level. Lots of dirt track descending with a stop to visit the oldest tree in Spain – 1000 years old and 12 feet in width. We then have a short coastal ride to San Pedro where we transfer back to Fuengirola with a wide selection of good restaurants and bars.
(Possible to fly back if you book a flight after 20:00).
08:30 – Breakfast.
Transfer to airport or local ride if time allows.
